Mr. Cravey has over 35 years of experience in property management and real estate operations. He has successfully run companies over this time period and has been the CEO of up to 8,000 rental units located in 14 states plus Puerto Rico, including responsibility for over 400 personnel. During his career, he has been very active in industry associations. He served two terms as President of the Southeastern Affordable Housing Management Association (SAHMA). He was actively involved in national housing legislation and other high level housing issues as a member of the Executive Council of the National Affordable Housing Management Association (NAHMA). Mr. Cravey has received numerous awards for his efforts in managing housing, including national awards for several communities that he managed.
His career in real estate began in 1973 at the prestigious Amelia Island Plantation Resort in northeast Florida. He worked with vacation rentals during this time as well as other functions related to real estate development and resort operations. Over the next nine years, he worked at several quality communities around the southeast: Brandermill in Richmond, VA, Coral Springs near Ft. Lauderdale, Keowee Key near Greenville, S.C. and Sea Palms Resort on St. Simons Island, GA.
In 1982, he accepted the job as Chief Financial Officer of a large home building and property management operation in Jacksonville, FL. He purchased 40% of the property management operation from the owners in 1985 and ran the operation until 2006 when the company was sold to one of the original owners. It was during this period that he built a large, successful property management operation that was highly acclaimed throughout Florida and the southeast.
Since selling his interest in the company, Mr. Cravey has started his own companies and has been managing vacation rentals and long-term single family and condominium rentals as well as condominium and homeowner associations comprising over 3,000 units. He successfully turned around a 60-unit vacation rental program in Crescent Beach, FL near St. Augustine and managed 312 rental units in a condo conversion in West Palm Beach, FL.
Mr. Cravey is a registered Florida Real Estate Broker. He was born and raised in north Florida and graduated from the University of Florida in 1970. He is the father of two brilliant, beautiful daughters and the grandfather of an awesome 10-year old grandson.
